Opp’s Walker Messer an eventual game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to help lead the Bobcats to a 4-2 area victory over Excel earlier tonight.

With the game tied at 2-2, Messer had bases loaded when he hit his single to give Opp enough time to cross two runners at home.

Landon Hughes pitched four innings, had two strikeouts and allowed three hits in the no decision.

DaKota King came in during at the top of the fifth, went on to face the next 10 batters and struck out one for the win.

Zane Hollinghead (double), Eli Johnson, Holt Hall, Jacob Johnson and Brady Vidich had a hit each to lead Opp.

With this win, the Bobcats improve to 10-7 overall, and 3-0 in Class 3A, Area 2.

OHS visits Excel today for a doubleheader to complete the area series.
