Florala’s Lady Wildcats have been ranked in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association softball poll, which was released today.

FHS (8-1) defeated Red Level 17-1, and Andalusia 4-0, on Tuesday, and earned the No. 9 spot in Class 1A.

In last week’s poll, the Lady Wildcats were nominated, but weren’t ranked.

Opp, in Class 3A, improved to 14-4 overall, but was knocked out of the top 10 after sitting at the No. 10 spot for a week.

The Lady Bobcats defeated Jay, Fla., 7-2 on Tuesday.

In the baseball poll, Florala (8-2) stayed at No. 10 in 1A, and Opp (15-8) bumped up one spot to No. 7 from No. 8 in 3A.

The Wildcats fell 5-3 to Rocky Bayou on Monday. OHS defeated Pike County 10-0 on Tuesday.
