Opp’s Katlynn Schively pitched a 1-hitter through four innings and gave up one run to help lead the Lady Bobcats to a 7-2 victory over Jay, Fla. on Tuesday.

Schively struck out five and walked one in the win. Tiffany Dean pitched one inning in relief, and Anna Harrelson threw the last two innings, giving up one unearned run.

The Lady Bobcats scored six runs in the first two innings behind Kelly Pierce and Courtney Chatham’s hitting. Both had two hits and score two runs.

“We played a very solid game against a good team,” OHS coach Jimmy Reeves said. “They were 15-1 coming in and had some really good-looking hitters. Katlynn pitched a great game and we were fortunate to score early, and hold on behind some good pitching and defense.”

In the junior varsity game, Opp defeated Jay 14-3.

Gracie Kidd was the winning pitcher as she gave up two runs on three hits. Kaylee Taylor pitched one inning of relief, giving up one run and a walk.

Lauren Prater had three hits; Ariyon Hightower and Hannah Wismer had two hits each.

Opp will be back in action today at Straughn for an area game.
