Opp surged up four spots to No. 3 in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 3A baseball poll.

The Bobcats improved to 20-8 on the season after defeating Red Level 10-0, 10-0 in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Additioanlly, OHS beat Straughn in an area sweep last Thursday and Friday.

Last week, the Bobcats sat at the No. 7 spot.

Andalusia (16-8) was nominated in the Class 4A poll, but wasn’t ranked.

In Class 1A, Florala bumped up two spots to No. 8 from 10 after claiming wins over Pleasant Home.

The Wildcats are 11-2 overall.

In softball, Florala (9-2) stayed at No. 9 in 1A.

Opp (16-6) and Straughn (16-11) were nominated in the Class 3A poll, but weren’t ranked.
