Brantley beat Lynn 4-0 to win its first Class 1A state softball championship on Friday at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by freshman pitcher Alex Wilcox, who struck out seven while allowing no runs on four hits in seven innings of work.

BHS scored one run in the third inning, two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Peyton Hill and Jessica Hermeling went 2-for-3 each to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

This is Brantley’s first-ever state championship in softball.
