GWENDOLYN PETTY WIGGINS

Gwendolyn Petty Wiggins, 60, of Red Level, passed away unexpectedly Fri., May 16, 2014, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were held Wed., May 21, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Michael Bush officiated and interment followed in the Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Wiggins is survived by her husband, Donnie Wiggins of Red Level; son, Brent (Mandy) Wiggins of Red Level; daughter, Mylinda (Richard) Ayers of Red Level; sister, Ramona (Gary Lynn) Thompson of Pisgah; grandchildren, Gregory Ayers, Kayley Ayers and Hollyn Wiggins; and a special nephew, Brandon (Tiffany) Thompson.

Pallbearers were Greg Hutcheson, Edgar Lambert, Hayden Lambert, Robert Mitchell, Ronnie Edson and Ben Skipper.

CHRISTINA BRAZIER

Christina Brazier, 23, of Huntsville, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Mon., May 19, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Keahey Funeral Home. Family is asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral home to help cover the cost of burial.

JENNIFER HALL ROCKWELL

Jennifer Hall Rockwell, 69, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., May 20, 2014, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp. Funeral services will be Fri., May 23, at 10 a.m. from Hopewell Baptist Church with ministers Barry Wilkinson and E.L. Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Rockwell is survived by a daughter, Regina Ruth (Chris) Nolan of Crestview; a son, Tony Elton (Elaine) Rockwell of Mascotte, Fla,; grandchildren, Brittney Fowler, Zachary Rockwell, E.L. Allen and Amanda Allen; and one brother, Tyler Hall of Davisville.

Visitation will be held today, Thurs., May 22, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

JEAN MAXTON SEIBERT BROWN
Jean Maxton Seibert Brown, affectionately known as “Mrs. Jean” or “Me Me” to her close friends and family, went to be with her heavenly father Mon., May 19, 2014, at the age of 90.

She left peacefully from her beloved home that she designed and built and tended to fervently; farewelled by Elizabeth Piper, Gratia Ashmore and Parker Ashmore. Her family will miss her dearly, but takes comfort knowing she is having a joyful reunion with her beloved husband, Warren Hathaway Brown Jr., whom she married Dec. 27, 1948; her parents, the Rev. Karl Herman Seibert and Maude Elizabeth Schnell Seibert; her sister, Elizabeth Seibert Studdard; her infant brother, Karl H. Seibert Jr.; her niece, Elizabeth Louise “Bitsy” Studdard Thornton; her daughter-in-law, Kathryn Flowers Brown; and the brothers-in-law of her three sisters.

Brown was a very active member in the Pleasant Home community for many years. She taught home economics and family living at Pleasant Home School from 1951 to 1986. Before and after her work at the school, she performed administrative tasks for Brown Farm and kept a beautiful yard, and large vegetable and flower gardens. She was an active member of several clubs and organizations including, Delta Kappa Gamma, Gardening Club, Home Demonstration Club and multiple farming community organizations.

Brown was a devout Christian. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia for many years, where she sang alto, first soprano and second soprano in the church choir. Later in life, she became a member of Pleasant Home Baptist and Union Methodist churches.

Brown and her husband raised three children, and helped raise five grandchildren. They also had one great grandchild. Her children include, her sons and daughters-in-law, Warren Hathaway and the late Kathryn Flowers Brown III, and Karl Seibert and Sarah Foster Brown; and her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Brown and Mark Piper Sr., all of the Pleasant Home community. Her grandchildren include, granddaughters, Gratia Brown (Martin) Ashmore from Wurtulla, Qld. Australia, Allison Carrie Brown of Los Angeles and Carly Mariah Brown of Huntsville; and grandsons, Warren Hathaway (Vanessa S.) Brown IV of Enterprise and Cody Foster (Hayden S.) Brown of Oxford, Ala. She also has one great-grandchild, Parker John Ashmore of Wurtulla, Qld. Australia. In addition to raising her children and taking an active role in the raising of her grandchildren, she also adopted and sponsored several foreign children in India and South America.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and two sisters, Frances “FiFi” McCellan of Tallahassee, Fla. and Mary Wanda Marshall of Birmingham.
In addition to her hard work, community involvement and dedication to her Lord and family, Brown will be remembered by all for her sweet spirit, generosity and friendship.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to Elizabeth Brown Piper and Mark Anthony Piper for taking care of our “Me Me” for over 10 years. It was not an easy job, but they did it with love, devotion, patience and kindness, for which the Brown family will be forever grateful. The family appreciates Comfort Care Hospice for their tender care, support, professional medical attention, spiritual involvement and comfort.

The family invites all family and friends to join in the celebration of her life sponsored by Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

There will be a memorials service at the Pleasant Home Church Fri., May 23, 2014, at 3 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Beda Cemetery. The family and Pleasant Home Baptist Church invites all friends and family to remain at the church after the service for a covered dish fellowship dinner graciously sponsored by the congregation of Pleasant Home Church.

The family will accept flowers or memorial may be made in her honor to Comfort Care Hospice.

PAUL WADE JACKSON

Paul Wade Jackson, 43, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., May 17, 2014, in Inverness, Fla. Funeral services will be held Sat., May 24, at 10:30 a.m. from Foreman Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Steve Defee officiating. Interment will take place in Bastrop, La. at Carter Cemetery with Golden Funeral Home officiating.

Jackson is survived by his father, Gene (Wanda) Jackson Sr. of Andalusia; brothers, Gene (Melissa) Jackson of Andalusia, Jimmy White of Pensacola and Quinton (April) Jackson of Bastrop, La.; sister, Michelle (Kevin) Eppinette of Eldorado, Ark.; sons, Will Vaughn and Austin Vaughn, both of Bayou Pigeon, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Fri., May 23, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home and also an hour prior to service on Saturday.

Doris Jeanette Hanscom, 76, of Wing, passed away Tues. May 20, 2014, in Crestview, Fla.

Funeral services will be Fri., May 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Bradley Assembly of God in Wing with the Rev. David Roy officiating. Interment will follow in Beda Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Thurs., May 22, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Hanscom is survived by a daughter, Donna Hanscom Grant of Wing; a son, Donald E. (Jocelyn) Hanscom Jr. of Australia; granddaughter, Melodie (David) Maddox; great-grandchildren, David Blaine Short and Nickolas Wren Short; mother, Bessie Adkison of Florala; sister, Gwen (Jimmy) Newton of Wing; and brother, C. T. (Carolyn) Adkison of Wing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Hanscom and sister, Deloris King.

JEFF WALDEN

Jeff Walden, 54, of Enterprise, passed away Tues., May 20, 2014, at his home.

Memorial services will be held today, Thurs., May 22, at 11 a.m. at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with the Rev. John Hunt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time.

Walden was preceded in death by his mother, Jerry Ann Walden; a brother, Howard Walden Jr.; and his father, Howard E. Walden.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Mae Walden; sons, Jeffrey Todd Walden and Daniel Lee Walden; and brothers, Keith Walden and Tim Walden.

MARY HICKS GREEN BLOCKER

Mary Hicks Green Blocker, 90, of Andalusia, died Tues., May 20, 2014, in Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Blocker is survived by her daughter, Barbara Green (Dennis) Thurman; sons, James (Nell) Green, Jim (Mickey) Green, Delbert (Donna) Blocker and Nathan Blocker; brothers, Cecil Hicks and Huey Hicks; sister, Polly Hicks Smith; brother-in-laws, Jay Blocker and Buddy Blocker; sister-in-laws, Nell Anderson and Frankie Luschen; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cleve Green and Edward Blocker; daughter, Carolyn G. Turner; parents, Dorrie Creel and William C. Hicks; six brothers; and  three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Fri., May 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
