A fugitive and sexual predator from Florida was captured in River Falls Tuesday morning.

River Falls Police Chief Greg Jackson said his department received information that James Robert Perry, 27, of Gainesville, Fla., was living in the River Falls Trailer Court.

Jackson said Perry, who was on probation, cut his ankle bracelet off.

He was charged with failing to register as a sex offender, living in a prohibited place and for a violation of probation warrant for lewd and lascivious act on a child less than 12.

Jackson said there were children living in the home with Perry.

Perry was convicted in Alachua County, Fla., in 2007 for lewd and lascivious molestation on a child.

Jackson said the U.S. Marshal’s Office and Drug Task Force Agents assisted in the capture.
