Are you looking for something a little different for your little one to get involved with this summer? If so, First Baptist Church of Andalusia may have just the thing for you.

FBC Music Minister Dwight Crigger said this summer will mark the seventh year for the church’s summer music camp, which begins Mon., June 9, and runs through Fri., June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily.

“We moved to Andalusia from Atlanta and had done it for probably10 years there,” Crigger said. “We brought it with us. It’s been successful; it’s grown.”

And this year Crigger said church officials are hoping to grow the program even more.

“This year, we are doing a musical called ‘I am Second,’” he said. “It was written by Pam Andrews, who lives in Nashville. The camp will be learning the complete musical. Drama. Chorography. Everything.”

Crigger said registration for the camp is open now, and costs $50, which goes toward purchasing t-shirts, supplies and music for the kids.

“This particular musical has a little bit of a country music flare,” He said. “It’s going to be fun. We would love more kids to come. It’s a great way to spend the summer.”

The camp is open to all children finishing first grade through those finishing sixth grade. The musical will be presented live June 13 in the sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. To register, stop by the church, located at 700 E. 3-Notch St. or call 334.222.5151.
