Straughn rising senior Brooks Rabren finished tied for sixth place at 3-under par in the 42nd annual Southern Junior Championship on Thursday.

Rabren started his final round at par after the first holes, but a bogey on the par-five third knocked him back down to 2-under.

During Wednesday’s round, Rabren bogeyed holes seven and eight, but that didn’t happen yesterday after he birdied both to get to 4-under.

Later in the round, Rabren found itself only one shot back twice after birdies on Nos. 11 and 14.

He went on to bogey No. 15 and 18 to close out the round at 3-under after making par on 16 and 17.

In his first round, Rabren finished his front nine 4-under, but the bogeys on seven and eight pushed him back to finishing the day 3-under.
