Students taking part in this summer’s Camp Te Amo summer camp are getting the opportunity to learn a little more about their town.
Angela Blackburn of the program, which is the summer camp at Andalusia Full Gospel Tabernacle, said Monday she has organized tours of many local businesses including Monday’s trip to the Evans Barnes Golf Course and a picnic lunch at Dream Park.
Later this week, campers will visit the Strikers for a little bowling.
“I just wanted to give them the opportunity to learn more about their community,” she said. “This is a chance for them to get out and do something different.”
Additionally, they will travel to Sno Biz, Pt. A, have a field day at Johnson Park, tour the Star-News, and more.
Blackburn said on Fridays older children have had the opportunity to go swimming at Cooper Pool.
The camp serves school-aged children.
