Andalusia Country Club is hosting the Emerald Coast Pro Gold Tour’s Pro-Am Classic this week.

Pro golfers along with amateurs who are interested in playing, will get the chance to play around tomorrow, with a shot gun at 1 p.m.

On Thursday, the second round of play is for the professionals with a players part that night. The final round will be held on Friday.

Today’s action includes a practice round for all pros and amateurs participating.

Andalusia Country Club General Manager Jeffery Mullins said this tournament provides a great opportunity for the club to host such a high-caliber event.

“It’s very important to us for sure having such an event like that and having such a league of talent to enjoy our course,” Mullins said. “We look forward to doing this as often as we can.”

Mullins, who has been the manager at the course since March, said he hopes to make the classic — a first-time event at the club — an annual event.

Emerald Gulf Coast Pro Tour Director Geno Celano said there will be 15 pro-am teams competing in tomorrow’s round and a few pros playing in the final two rounds.

The format is one pro and three amateurs and two best ball of four.

Entry fee is $100, which includes golf and prizes and the kickoff party tonight and awards on Wednesday after the pro-am.

The professional entry fee will be $600 for ECGT members and $635 for nonmembers. First place for professionals will be $7,000.

Those who are interested in playing in the pro-am can call the country club at 222-3881 or Celano at 850-217-3412.
