The Andalusia Board of Education Wednesday hired:

• Bridget Harper, as an AES 5th grade teacher;

• Joey Caldwell, as an AES administrative assistant;

• Georgianna Baldwin, as the AHS business education teacher;

• Josh Sheffer, as a 7th grade science teacher; Sheffer previously was band director at Florala, but is certified to teach science.

The board also transferred Carrie Capps from AES secretary to TABS paraprofessional.

The board also accepted the low bid of $27,498 from PlasmaCam, Inc., for a plasma cutting syste for the AHS vocational education department.
