A three-car accident at Danley Cross Roads, six miles West of Elba, Monday afternoon at approximately 4:41, resulted in multiple injuries.

Two of the injured were airlifted to Dothan hospitals and a number of others were taken to the Opp hospital by several rescue squads. Elba, Opp and Enterprise rescue squads responded to the emergency, as did the Alabama State Troopers, Coffee County Sheriff¹s Department, Elba Police Department and Elba Fire Department.

Accident investigators were still on the scene trying to establish exactly what happened two hours after the accident. According to some bystanders who were early on the accident, one car was traveling South on Ala 141; another West on Alabama 12 (out of Elba) and the third vehicle was traveling East into the intersection.

The East-West traffic has flashing stop signs and the Ala 141 raffic has a caution light.

The vehicle traveling Hwy 141 was carrying a Missouri family to a week¹s vacation in Florida. Their parents/grandparents were in a car right behind them, but were not involved in the accident.”
