Local children will have the opportunity to grow with grace through the First Baptist Church of Andalusia’s graded children’s choirs.
FBC Music Minister Dwight Crigger said this week that the choirs are offered for children ages 4 years old through fifth grade.
“We have these graded choirs for each age group,” he said. “We are using the ‘Growing in Grace’ music curriculum. The heart of ‘Growing in Grace’ is the music.”
Crigger said the songs have been carefully written to ensure they are developmentally appropriate for the children, both theologically and musically.
“These songs will help each child develop his or her natural singing skills, increase in musical knowledge and grow spiritually,” he said. “We will be studying scriptural concepts found in Romans 12. The children will learn to make music through meaningful songs and engaging, fun activities.”
Crigger said participants will continue to grow in God’s grace as they sing, play and move.
“FBC has always had this afternoon of music open to the public,” he said. “Each child will need to have their parent sign a form to ride the church bus each Tuesday.”
Choirs begin Sept. 9, and each meets from 2:45 p.m. until 4 p.m.
