New Wells Fargo manager: I love Opp

Though Paul Swanson has only been in Covington County a short while, he’s fallen in love with Opp.

Swanson, who is originally from Minnesota, was recently named the store manager of the Opp Wells Fargo.

Swanson began his career with Wells Fargo in January 2013 as a teller, before moving up to lead teller, customer sales and service representative and personal banker I, before being promoted to sotre manager is July.

Swanson is a former Division I student-athlete, playing tennis at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

He earned a double major in business administration with an emphasis in finance and economics.

He is currently pursuing his MBA through Troy.

Swanson said he moved to Southeast Alabama in July 2013.

“I love Opp so far,” he said. “Everyone has been very receptive of this 24-year-old.”

Swanson said the team of 10 in Opp has been great as well.

“They have been very welcoming and made the transition smooth here,” he said.

Swanson said he is looking forward to meeting new people and establishing new relationships through community banking.

“I feel like with the services we offer, we have something for everyone,” he said. “I’m very passionate about financial planning. I want to help customers. Whether you would like to build credit, save for credit, purchase your first home, there are some many things we can do.”

Swanson said he plans to continue to be very involved in the community.

“I will continue to attend the Opp City Council meetings,” he said. “We are also active in the Day of Giving foundation.”

Swanson explained that the foundation is a charity of all Wells Fargo employees in which the branch chooses a local group in which to help.
