Man charged in attempted murder

Darian Stallworth, 42, of Red Level, faces two counts of attempt to commit murder, a Class A felony, and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, a Class B felony, after a gunshot victim identified him Wednesday as the person who had shot him multiple times.
The Andalusia Police Department responded to Andalusia Regional Hospital Wednesday afternoon after it was reported that a 28-year-old male victim had been shot several times.
The victim reported that he and a passenger were in his vehicle, driving on Jackson Street in Andalusia, when a shot was fired that penetrated the driver’s door of the vehicle, striking the driver in the leg.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at ARH and released.
APD officers located Stallowrth at a business and took him into custody without incident.
His $1.2 million bond includes bond amounts of $500,000 on each charge of attempt to commit murder, and $200,000 for the charge of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
