Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alton (Rick) Kyle of Andalusia, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Kate, to Matthew Hayden Meredith, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Michael Meredith of Dallas.

Miss Kyle is the granddaughter of Dr. Conrad Elbert Adair and the late Mrs. Adair of Birmingham, Alabama, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alton Kyle, Sr. of Opp.

She is a graduate of Auburn University where she was a member of Mortar Board honorary and Chi Omega social sorority. Miss Kyle received Masters’ degrees from South College and the University of Tennessee and is currently employed as a Physician Assistant by Mid-Tennessee Bone and Joint in Columbia, Tennessee.

Capt. Meredith is the grandson of Retired Army Col. John Davis Meredith, and the late Mrs. Meredith of Dallas, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Maier of Dallas,and the late Mrs. Lyla Lucille Foster of Dallas. He is a graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point.

Upon graduation, CPT Meredith was commissioned as an Infantry Officer, completed the Ranger Course and deployed to Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013 as a mortar platoon leader.

He is currently completing the United States Army Maneuver Captains Career Course at Ft. Benning, Ga

The wedding will be an event of Dec. 20, 2014 in Andalusia.
