NAOMI MAE STEEN SMITHART

Mrs. Naomi Mae Steen Smithart, 79, of Andalusia passed away on Mon., Sept. 8, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Wed., Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Pri­­­vate interment services will be held in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Rev. Frankie McVay will officiate.

Mrs. Smithart is survived by her sons, Ronald (Denise) Smithart of Andalusia and James (Debbie) Smithart of Ransomville, N.Y.; her daughter, Barbara (Gary) Holloway of Andalusia; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; her sister, Mrs. Georgia Kiszewski of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smithart was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Hiram A. Smithart.

Pallbearers will be Casey Smithart, Justin Smithart, Joey Caldwell, Tony Wells, Jamie Holloway and Randall Jorden.

The body will lie in state from 6 p.m. today at Foreman Funeral Home.

JESSIE JEWEL SMITHART

Mrs. Jessie Jewel Smithart, 93, of Andalusia passed away Mon., Sept. 8, 2014, at Andalusia Regional.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wed., Sept. 10, in the Scripture Truth Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Ganus will officiate. Keahey Funeral Home will be directing.

Survivors include his sons, John Henry Franklin of Arizona, Richard Franklin of Andalusia; daughters, Shirley Ann Franklin of Andalusia, Juanita Johnson of Montgomery; brother, Paul Neal of Andalusia; sister, Big Sis Neal of Luverne; and grandchildren, Cody Worley of Andalusia, Tammy Griggs of Montgomery and Candy Lock.

 

CORODON MONROE BEEBE

Mr. Corodon Monroe Beebe, 84, of Florala passed away Sept. 7, 2014.

He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in East Hartford, Conn., the son of Hobart and Mildred Bush Beebe. C.M. joined the United States Navy on June 28, 1948, and served until April 25, 1952. He then enlisted in the Florida National Guard on March 18, 1960, and served until Aug. 16, 1971, and continued serving then in the Alabama National Guard until retiring on Aug. 21, 1990, where he proudly served his country for 31 years.

He was an avid fisherman and spent countless hours in the lakes and ponds in south Alabama fishing for large-mouth bass.

He had a love for life and a love for getting things done.

He love spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

C.M. and his family have been active members of the Red Oak Baptist Church for many years and his faith in Jesus Christ sustained him as he fought many health issues.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lorie Gibbs Beebe of Florala; sons, Corodon Monroe Beebe and wife Patrica of Jupiter, Fla., and Thomas Hobart Beebe and wife, Penny, of Charlestown, Ind., brother, William (Bill) Collins and wife Connie of Lake Coventry, Conn.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by father; Hobart Beebe; and mother, Mildred Bush Beebe.

Funeral services for Corodon Monroe Bebee were held at 11 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 9, from Evans Funeral Home with Eugene Meadows and Mark Perry officiating. Interment was in the North Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Corodon Monroe Beebe’s name can be made to the North Creek Cemetery Fund.

MARVIN E. KELLEY

Mr. Marvin E. Kelley, 77, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Sept. 7, 2014, at the Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tues., Sept. 9, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Bradley officiating; interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Mon., Sept. 8, at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonne Kelley; his brother and sisters-in-law, Marcus and Jo Kelley and Katherine Kelley, all of Andalusia; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Mary Kelley; and his brother, Martin Kelley.

Pallbearers will be Jim Kelley, David Little, Brent Coleman, Larry Richards, Steve Hanks and Gene Pate.

MARVIN EARL CAPPS

Mr. Marvin Earl Capps, 37, of Brantley, passed away Sat., Sept. 6, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Capps of Mobile; mother, Clara Mae Johnson of Red Level; son, Thomas Donald Beam Capps of Mobile; brother, James Bass of Evergreen; and sister, Pamela Michelle Bass of Tallahassee, Fla.

 

EARNEST ODOM

Earnest Odom, 87, of Georgiana, passed away on Fri., Sept. 5, 2014.

A Celebration Of Life was held Sun., Sept. 7, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Heartsill officiating.

Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in McKenzie, with Johnson Funeral Home directing.

A gathering of friends was held Sat., Sept. 6, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Odom were married a wonderful 65 years.

Mr. Odom is preceded in death by his sons, William E. (Bill) Odom and Terry (Tug) Odom.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ima Lois Odom from Georgiana; daughter, Sherry (Charles) Bennett from McKenzie; sons, Ira (Patsy) Odom from Georgiana, Tommy (June) Odom from McKenzie, Michael (Reagan) Watford from Huntsville, Stephen (Dawn) Watford from McKenzie, and Will (Stephanie) Watford from Georgiana; daughters-in-law; Gail Odom and Lee Ann Odom, both of Georgiana; 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Heath Odom, Casey Odom, Brent Odom, Justin Bennett, Brannon Odom, Chris Odom; and honorary pallbearers: Dylan Odom, Logan Odom, Brady Tisdale, Dustin Reeves, Lane Nall, Carter Gomillion, Parker Odom, Kole Odom, Brody Odom and Ridge Gomillion.

JANET THARPE LAMBERT

Mrs. Janet Tharpe Lambert, 63, of Heath, passed away Fri., Sept. 5, 2014, at the Andalusia hospital.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Mon., Sept. 8, at Bethany Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. The family visited with friends at the cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Travis Lambert of Heath; her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Wendy Bass of Owenton, Ky.; her grandson, Mason Bass; step son, Billy Lambert of Andalusia; step-grandson, Justin Lambert; her mother, Mary Kelley; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sherry and Bruce Oliver, and Barbie Jackson; one brother, Garry Tharpe, of Phenix City; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles

She is preceded in death by her father, Gordon Tharpe; and two brothers, Wayne Tharpe and Darrel Tharpe.

ANNIE LOUISE GANTT SENN

Mrs. Annie Louise Gantt Senn, 84, of Gantt, passed away Fri., Sept., 5, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 10, at Coldwater Congregational Church with the Rev. Ray Stinson and the Rev. Wayne Sharpe officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include her husband, Admiral Edge Senn of Gantt; her sons, David Pollard of Hazel, Texas, and Wesley Edge Senn of Atlanta, Ga.; her daughters, Katherine Louise Arthur and Laurie Johanna Armendariz, both of Andalusia; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

NELSON HEATH BUSH

Mr. Nelson Heath Bush, 37, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Sept. 3, 2014, in Birmingham.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sun., Sept. 7, from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Meadows officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakey Ridge Baptist Church Cemetary. Visitation will be one-hour prior to services.

Mr. Larry Graves Bulger, 77, of Florala, passed away Fri., Sept. 5, 2014, in a Crestview, Fla., hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tues., Sept. 9, from Red Oak Baptist Church with Pastor John Bryan officiating.

Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.

Bulger of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda E. and Robert Bailey of Crestview; grandsons, Dominic (Julia) Bailey and Jamie Bailey both of Crestview; one great-grandson, Keilan Bailey; two special children he raised, Brandon (Polena) Sullivan and their daughter, Polena, of Baltimore, Md., and Thomas Sullivan of Crestview; brothers, Thomas J. Bulger and Gordon Bulger both of Andalusia; sister, Loretta Turner of Lowndesboro; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ernestine McCloud of Florala.

Mr. Joe E Allen, 73, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Sept. 5, 2014, in a Mobile hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wed., Sept. 10, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Carol Parker and Bro. Dennis Knowles officiating, interment will follow in the Loango Cemetery.
