CAROLYN J. MOORE

Mrs. Carolyn J. Moore, 65, of Opp, passed away Fri., Sept. 12, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Mon., Sept. 15, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel, with John Eiland officiating. A private family interment followed in Jordan Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Mixon Moore; daughters, Shawna and Trisha Creel; grandchildren, Austin (Haley) Creel, Ethan Griffin, Cory Knight, Isaiah Knight, and Jordae Jones; mother, Mabel Ruth Coleman; brothers, Lloyd Coleman, John Coleman, Mark Coleman, and Ricky (Nikki) Coleman; and sisters, LaVonne Kelley, Jana (Alvin) Rodgers, Ann Marie Coleman, and Cookie (Joe) Wilcox.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Henry Coleman.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to any charity of choice.

MARY ELLA GRIMES HIXON

Mrs. Mary Ella Grimes Hixon, 93, of Red Level, passed away Fri., Sept. 12, 2014, at Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sun., Sept. 14, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Douglass officiating. Interment followed in River Falls Cemetery.

Mrs. Hixon was retired from T & H Contracting Co. where she worked for more than 55 years.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Marianne and Jim Phillips of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Kim and Jerry Howell of Red Level; seven grandchildren, Jason (Jill) Phillips, Todd (Carol) Phillips, Anne (Robby) Williams, Jonathan Pebworth, Lauren Lawson, Beth (Kevin) Covin, and Katie (Jake) Poole; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Wise of Andalusia; and one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Grimes of Auburn.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jason Phillips, Todd Phillips, Jonathan Pebworth, Kevin Covin, Robby Williams and Ted Grimes.

Palmer Clint Lewis

Palmer Clint Lewis, age 55, of Florala passed away in a Dothan hospital Sept. 14, 2014. He was born on March 6, 1959, in Florala, the son of Wilson Lewis and Nadine Kelley Lewis. Clint worked as a senior mechanic for Noble Drilling Inc. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars and tractors. Clint was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent countless hours in the woods, fields, lakes and ponds of south Alabama chasing deer and catching large mouth bass. He loved Alabama football and enjoyed sharing that love with family and friends. Clint enjoyed grilling for family gatherings and was famous for his Red Neck Stew. Nothing was more important to him as his family. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children and especially his four grandchildren. He loved being their “Paw Paw.” He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Lewis, and brother, Johnny Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Lewis of Florala; mother, Nadine Kelley of Florala; sons, Clint Lewis Jr. and wife Jennifer of Red Level, and Jeremiah Lewis of Florala; daughters, Danah Spicer of the Carolina Community and Brandy Strickland; four grandchildren; his brother, Lavon Lewis; and sister, Vickie Thornton and husband Gary. He is also survived by an abundance of extended love ones including several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 17, 2014, from Evans Funeral Home with Johnathan Shepard and DeWayne Geoghagan officiating. Visitation will be tonight, Tues., Sept. 16, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. from Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lewis Cemetery.
