HARRISON L. VINSON SR.
Mr. Harrison L. Vinson Sr., 82, of Andalusia passed away Thurs., Sept. 18, 2014, at his residence.
A graveside service for Mr. Vinson will be held today at 4 p.m. in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Larry Turman officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.
Mr. Vinson is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Stokes Vinson of Andalusia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harrison “Vince” and Stella Vinson Jr. of Andalusia and Ricky and Ginger Vinson of Glenwood; five grandchildren, Sherrie (Jason) Elmore of Andalusia, April (Rhett) Harrelson of Andalusia, Justin (Candice) Vinson of Andalusia, Leana Vinson of Troy, and Shelby Jo Vinson of Columbia, Ky.; six great-grandchildren, Trenton, Collin and Lilly Jo Elmore of Andalusia, Carolina and CJ Harrelson of Andalusia and Harrison Adam “Reese” Vinson of Andalusia; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Marvin Killam of Libby, Mont.; four sisters-in-law and husbands and one brother-in-law, Charlotte and Murray Bryant of Andalusia, Ann and Esker Thomason of Andalusia, Mittie and David Knowles of Red Level, Amelia and Jimmy Lindsey of Gantt, and Jimmy Stokes of Andalusia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

MARIE GOWAN
Mrs. Marie Gowan, 84, of River Falls, died Thurs., Sept. 18, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gowan will be held today at 2 p.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home chapel with Brother Harold Morris officiating.
Interment will follow in River Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be one-hour prior to services.
Mrs. Gowan is survived by her husband, Donald “Bart” Gowan of River Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Peter Shelpman Sr. of Ohio; step-daughter, Jean Gowan of Ohio; grandchildren, Peter (Becky) Shelpman Jr. of Millersburg, Ky., and Sammi Ruth of Jacksonville, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Sammy Boutwell; four brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers include Larry Gunter, Ronnie Capps, Ronnie Hendrix, Joe Frank Williams, Keith Lynch and C.N. Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Bush and Loy Ray Morgan.

DOROTHY BARTON BRAWNER
Mrs. Dorothy Barton Brawner, 80, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., Sept. 15, 2014, in a Huntsville hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brawner will be held today at 11 a.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Fred Karthaus will officiate.
Mrs. Brawner is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leisa and Brad Taylor of Huntsville; and two grandchildren, Melissa and John Taylor.

BOYINGTON
Carol Stokes Boyington of Andalusia died Sept. 14, 2014. She was 67.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Randy Boyington and Roger and Suzanne Zorn Boyington, all of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Keith and Tracie Boyington Pittman, Andalusia; six grandchildren, Sarah and Libby Boyington; Ashford and Aubrey Boyington; and Amber and Brian Thomas; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Sandra Allen Stokes of Florala; her sisters, Shirley Stokes Tew, and husband, Terry, and Cindy Surrey Cook, all of Andalusia; a brother, Paul Surrey, and wife, Teresa, of Robertsdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A native of Baldwin County, Mrs. Boyington lived most of her adult life in Florala and moved to Andalusia in recent years.
She was a longtime member of Lockhart Baptist Church, and was a member of Lindsey Bridge Baptist Church after moving to Andalusia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Omer Norris and Inez Dunlap Stokes; and her husband, John Ashford Boyington.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. today at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, with burial following in Florala’s Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
