SARA “SALLY” SPELLER CARTER

Mrs. Sara “Sally” Speller Carter, 87, formerly of Andalusia, died Fri., Oct. 3, 2014, in Texas.

A graveside service for Mrs. Carter will be held today, Tues., Oct. 7, at 2 p.m., from Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Herb Carlisle officiating.

Mrs. Carter was a school teacher in the Andalusia area for over 35 years and also taught the Mildred Heart Adult 1 Sunday School Class at first baptist church for 40-plus years.

Mrs. Carter is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Chester Wilford “Bill” Carter and Hayward O’Neal.

BARBARA CATHERINE BLACKWELL

Mrs. Barbara Catherine Blackwell, 73, of Andalusia, died Fri., Oct. 3, 2014, in a Crestview nursing home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Blackwell will be held today, Tues., Oct. 7, at 11 a.m., from Carolina Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Carolina Cemetery.

Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her husband, Charles Blackwell; daughters and son-in-law, Tammy and Jimmy Cox of Andalusia, Cindy Blackwell of Andalusia and Jeannie Beverly of McKenzie; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Crawley of Tallahassee, Fla.; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ron Ellis of Calvary, Ga.

CONNIE LYNN QUALLS

Ms. Connie Lynn Qualls, 40, passed away on Sun., Oct. 5, 2014, at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wed., Oct. 8, in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Randall Jackson, the Rev. Dennis Knowles and the Rev. Roger Grandstaff will be officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, Tues., Oct. 7, in the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Qualls is survived by her mother, Patricia Ann Biggs Qualls of Opp; brother, Jeffery Dewayne (Misty Christine) Qualls of Opp; sisters, Kimberly Dawn (Ollie) Chatham of Opp; Melissa Gale (Charlie Joe) Johnson of Opp; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Biggs of Andalusia; aunts and uncles, Pat Burckhauter, Nancy Bedsole, Windell (Deb) Qualls, Chris Biggs, Darlene Korpolewski, Cindy (Wade) Garett, Gale (Randall) Jackson and Tajawanna (Donnie) Carnley; nieces and nephews, Paige Johnson, Courtney Chatham, Naomi Qualls, Trey Johnson, C.J. Johnson, Cody Chatham, Levi Qualls, Chase Qualls and Walker Qualls.

Ms. Qualls was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Wayne Qualls.
