BARROW

Mr. Carlton Hall Barrow, 57 of the Pleasant Home Community, passed away Sun., Oct. 12, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Tues., Oct. 14, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Judge Ashley McKathan and the Rev. Fred Kelley officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 21st Century Oncology of Andalusia.

He is survived by his mother, Ramona Franklin Barrow; brothers, John W. (Dianne) Barrow of Millbrook and James Gary (Vicky) Barrow of Andalusia; sisters, Rose Ann Barrow (Gary) Shaw, Carolyn (Jimmy) Golden of Dothan, Mary Barrow (Rodney) Norris of Andalusia and Ashley W. Barrow of Houston; nieces and nephews, Julie Monger, Ronald David Barrow, John Wesley Barrow, Christopher Barrow, Michael Barrow, Courtney Shaw McGough, Kenneth W. Shaw, Lane Stearns, Brooke Stearns, Katie Hughes, Bryan Norris and Stephanie Barrow; and 17 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Hinton Barrow.

Pallbearers included Nathan Davis, Raymond Lassiter, Louis Henderson, Bill Flick, Jackie Hughes, Larry Stallings, Chris Barrow, Sandy Cotton.

 

LOUISE JOHNSON HOLMES GODWIN

Mrs. Louise Johnson Holmes Godwin, 95, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Oct. 12, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Godwin was born Aug. 14, 1919. She was active in the First Baptist Church for many years and participated until her health declined.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Fred Karthaus officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, William Cliff Holmes of Dothan and James Carlos and Brenda Holmes of Killen; her daughter, Marie Holmes Thompson of Webb; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended local family members, James and Joanne Boswell, Jimmy and Debbie Grimes and James and Linda Boswell.

CINDY LEA BRUNER STROUD

Mrs. Cindy Lea Bruner Stroud, 47, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Oct. 11, 2014, in the Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services were held Mon., Oct. 13, at South Church of God, above Red Level, with Ministers Kenneth Mitchell and Larry Turman officiating.

Survivors include her husband, James “Pee Wee” Stroud, of Andalusia; her daughters, Amy (Jason) Ainsworth of Dozier and Brandy Stroud of Red Level; a son, Trent Stroud of Andalusia; her mother, Videalia “Vicki” (Virgil) Cross of Andalusia; her mother-in-law, Willene Stroud Little of Red Level; five grandchildren; four sisters, Susan Puccio, Judy Jordan, Carolyn Puccio and Vicky Byrd; two brothers, Robert (MaryAnn) Raley and Johnny (Karen) Raley.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Fenton; and her father ,Ray Bruner.

Pallbearers were Colter Herrington, Big Michael Smith, Little Michael Smith, Michael Vigor, Terry Stephens and Guy Phillips.

ELMER WAYNE GANUS

Mr. Elmer Wayne Ganus, 71, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Oct. 11, 2014, at Mizell Memorial.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m., at the Keahey Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Ed Ganus will be officiate. Interment will follow in the Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle R. Ganus of Andalusia; son, Joey (Nathena) Ganus of Maryville, Tenn.; daughters, Kay (Brian Chance) Brannon of Gantt, Diane G. (Mike) Watson of Red Level, Jennifer (Kenneth) Burgans of Gantt, Wendy (Russell) Thompson of Andalusia and Joni (Larry) Brown of Andalusia; brother, the Rev. Ed (Aubrene) Ganus of Andalusia; sister, Jeanette Powell of Andalusia; grandchildren, Dana Brannon, Duston Brannon, Anthony Carter, Hannah Carter, Alex Thompson, Ali Brown, Taylor Brown and Isaac Ganus; great-grandchild, Hayden Brannon; and eight step-grandchildren.
