River Falls keeps clerk

River Falls Town Clerk MaryAnn Andrews will get to keep her position.

In a special-called meeting last night, the council adopted a new job description for the clerk.

The council voted to enter an executive, or closed, session to discuss controversies not currently being litigated, but likely to be litigated if the body takes a proposed course of action.

The executive session lasted less than 30 minutes, and the council did not reconvene.

After the meeting, councilman Gary Wages said that Andrews, who had resigned her position last month, but rescinded it last week, was well within her rights to do so.

“We thank everyone for their applications,” he said. “But the position is no longer available.”

The council will hold its monthly meeting Thurs., Nov. 13, at 6 p.m., at town hall.
