Man leads cops on 10-mile chase

An Andalusia man is man is behind bars after he fled a morning driver’s license and equipment checkpoint and led troopers on a 10-mile chase on Monday.
According to Alabama State Trooper Spokesman Kevin Cook, troopers were conducting the checking at the intersection of county roads 70 and 40, when a red Honda “turned around and fled the checkpoint.”
Cook said the driver, later identified as Sabin Kendel Shreve, 24, attempted to elude troopers for about 10 miles before stopping at a residence off of Cherry Lane in the Harmony community.
Cook said no injuries were reported and Shreve was taken to the Covington County Jail and was charged with attempting to elude and reckless endangerment.
He was also issued a traffic citation for driving while revoked.
