The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles used good defense and solid shooting to down the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs 39-25 last night in Pleasant Home.

The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first period, and then increased that lead to 25-8 at the half.

The Lady Eagles continued their dominance on defense, and only allowed the Bulldogs to score 1 point in the third period. After three periods of play the Lady Eagles led 29-9.

The Lady Bulldogs finally got some offense going in the fourth period nearly doubling their scoring for the night in the fourth alone, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.

“I’m glad we came away with the win,” Lady Eagles’ head coach Jerry Davis said. “It was a very physical game tonight. It’s still early in the season, but we are starting to play better.”

River Baldwin led the Lady Eagles with 12 points. Baldwin also had 12 blocks for the Lady Eagles. Camille Holley added 7 points for the Lady Eagles.

Aaliyah Lawrence led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points.

“We have got learn how to put the ball in the hole,” Lady Bulldogs’ head coach Brad Garner said. “We had plenty of steals and played well enough on defense, but 9 points through three periods just won’t get it.”
