Amazing one-handed catch

Greatest catch in NFL history? If you watched Sunday Nigh Football you witnessed one of the greatest catches if not the greatest catch of all time.

On the first play of the second quarter Odell Beckham Jr. sprinted down the right sideline, covered closely by Dallas cornerback Brandon Carr. The two jostled for position, and Carr was flagged for interference, but Bechkam leaped in the air making a one-handed grab on the ball just as it seemed to be heading out of reach. Beckham pulled the ball down, securing it against his body, as he came crashing down in the end zone.

It’s hard to put into words how incredible the catch was. Beckham couldn’t even see the ball as it came into contact with his outstretched hand. The ball and Beckham’s hand were behind him, and only three of Beckham’s fingers got on the ball, but it was just enough for him to secure the ball.

It was the most impressive catch I’ve ever seen in a football game, and that includes the Tyrone Prothro catch and David Tyree’s Super Bowl catch a few years ago. Not only was Beckham fending off a physical cornerback like Carr, but it looked like his arm had extenders on it to reach back and get the ball.

If this kid keeps making plays similar to this we could be looking at one the NFL’s greatest receivers in a few years. I know he is a just a rookie, and hasn’t even played the entire season, but the freak athleticism and great ball skills Beckham possesses, he has all the right tools to be the next Calvin Johnshon or Randy Moss type of guy.

He will be one of the most interesting players in years to come, and talk about fantasy value. He is already one of the best fantasy wide receivers, and when he gets a full season’s worth of work the sky is the limit.
