Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said he expects to make at least two arrests later this week in a string of automobile burglaries that occurred last week.
Bedsole said 11 or 12 cars in the Paxton area also were burglarized, and he is working with the Walton County Sheriff’s Department to determine if the incidents were related.
Bedsole said at least three security cameras captured images of the “aged men” who have become persons of interest, and he expects to have warrants later this week.
The suspects targeted unlocked cars, and took cell phones and loose change. The thefts occurred mainly on the east side of town.
Bedsole recommends residents lock their vehicles, and report any out-of-place activity.
“If you see any suspicious activity or suspicious persons in the neighborhood, report it to the authorities,” Bedsole said.
