The Andalusia Bulldogs used a phenomenal second half to defeat the Red Level Tigers 77-52 Friday night in the Red Level Christmas tournament.

 

In the first period, both teams got off to a good start. The Bulldogs were on top 16-12 at the end of the first. Kendarious Townsend was on fire from downtown all night. Townsend had a pair of 3-pointers in the first. B.J. Anderson and Devante Jackson each had a 3-pointer in the first as well. Jeffery Perdue had 5 points for the Tigers.

 

The Bulldogs continued to shoot the ball well in the second, and held a 37-30 lead going into halftime. Ian Peek had 7 points for the Bulldogs, and Townsend found the bottom of the net two more times from 3-point land to lead the Bulldogs. Devin Dexter had 7 points for the Tigers.

 

After halftime the Bulldogs really found their grove. Townsend lit up the scoreboard for 9 points, and Trevor Parker added 7 points for the Bulldogs. At the end of the third, the Bulldogs held a 56-42 lead.

 

In the fourth period, the Bulldogs stayed in their grove to finish of the Tigers 77-52. Parker had 7 points in the fourth to help guide the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs hit a total of nine 3-pointers in the contest.

 

The Bulldogs leading scorer was Townsend with 21 points. Parker finished with a solid 18 points, and Jackson totaled 14 points.

 

“It took us awhile to get in sync,” Bulldogs’ head coach Richard Robertson said. “The things we have been working on we were able to get the job done in the second half. We were able to get it done with bench players, and that is a good thing. Red Level is a good scrappy bunch, and Coach Catrett has done a great job with them. As a former player of mine I’m very proud of what he has done.”
