More snow in New Year’s forecast; domino drop tonight

The City of Andalusia’s Tourism and Relocation Committee will again provide New Year’s Eve entertainment on the Square. This year’s event has been dubbed “Midnight Magic in Candyland.”

Gwen Kelley, who chairs the event for the committee, said a DJ will provide upbeat musical entertainment beginning at 11.

As the new year arrives, the snow machines that have made the Square a winter wonderland each weekend in December will bring the season’s last snowfall.

The domino drop countdown begins at 11:59 p.m. counting down the new year, and there will also be fireworks.

Kelley said she encourages residents to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy ringing in the new year in Candyland.
