These are just a few of the most memorable moments for Covington County sports in the year 2014.

The Andalusia Bulldogs’ baseball team reached the semi-finals this season, but came up just short of the state championship.

The Opp High School cheer squad won the state title for the second time in three years.

The Opp Bobcats’ football team made school history by making it to the third round of the AHSAA 3A state playoffs. The Bobcats also set school records for points scored, and points allowed.

The Pleasant Home Eagles’ volleyball team advanced to the final four in Birmingham.

The Red Level Tigers’ football team broke a streak of 30-straight losses by beating J.F. Shields 53-0 in September.

The Straughn Tigers football team advanced to the third round of the AHSAA 4A state playoffs.

The Straughn Lady Tigers’ basketball team advanced to the final four in Birmingham for the second straight year.

Trent Taylor came home to become the head coach of the Andalusia Bulldogs football team, after 25 years at Straughn.
