The Opp varsity Bobcats fell to the T.R. Miller Tigers 52-45 Tuesday night in their first area contest of the season.

 

The Bobcats started the contest off strong, and led 13-12 at the end of the first period. Raheem Bonam had 4 points for the Bobcats. Devontea Williams and Chris Morrow had 3 points each. Tamerick Jenkins and Kellyn Winn each had 5 points to the lead the Tigers in the first.

 

It went back and forth in the second period, but the Tigers got a buzzer-beater 3-pointer from Winn to put them up 24-21. Morrow had just tied the game, for the Bobcats, with a beautiful hook shot before Winn’s 3-pointer put the Tigers up. Winn had five more points in the second period. Dewayne Bonam had 4 points for the Bobcats.

 

The Tigers turned it on in the third period, and jumped out to a 45-32 lead heading into the final period.

 

Chardian Johnson put the Tigers on his back with 13 points in the second half that helped the Tigers edge the Bobcats 52-45.

 

The Bobcats were led in scoring by Williams with 14 points.

 

Johnson led the Tigers with 18 points, and Winn finished the contest with 10.

 

The Bobcats will look to bounce back when they host the Straughn Tigers on Sat., Jan. 10th.
