The Enterprise Wildcats defeated the Andalusia Bulldogs 55-36 Thursday night in Andalusia.

The Wildcats and Bulldogs both struggled to get anything going for the first few minutes of the game. The Wildcats put the first points on the board with six minutes left in the first period. Kendarious Townsend got the Bulldogs first six points of the game as he knocked down consecutive 3-pointers, but the Bulldogs still trailed 7-6 with three minutes left in the first. B.J. Anderson got his first two points by going 2-for-2 from the free-throw line, and Devante Jackson closed out the period with a long jumper. At the end of the first period, the Bulldogs trailed 16-10.

The Wildcats opened up the second period with an 8-0 run before Jamal Hourel hit two free throws to put the score at 24-12. Jackson added two more points for the Bulldogs, and Alex Sheridan went 2-for-2 from the line in the second. At halftime, the Bulldogs were down 34-16.

Townsend opened up the third period with another 3-pointer to bring the score to 34-19, but the Wildcats answered right back with a 3-pointer of their own. Trevor Parker got his first bucket with just over four minutes left in the third to make the score 37-21. The Wildcats then went on a 10-0 run over the next four minutes before Parker added two points with 20 seconds left, and then Townsend went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line with 9 seconds left. Townsend was in-bounding the ball, and threw it off the back of an unsuspecting Wildcat player under the bucket. Townsend picked up the ball and went up for two, but was fouled on the shot. The Wildcats led 48-24 heading into the fourth period.

Parker got the Bulldogs on the board first in the final stanza with a strong finish around the basket. A few seconds later, Jackson got a steal on the other end of the court and went coast-to-coast to cut the Wildcats’ lead to 48-28 with six minutes left. Jackson went to the line a few minutes later, and sank 2-of-2 free throws, but the Wildcats still held a 52-30 lead. Sheridan had the next three points for the Bulldogs as he went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs got their final points of the night from Micah Stone, who buried a 3-pointer from the corner with 45 seconds left in the game.

Townsend led the Bulldogs with 10 points. Jackson finished the night with 8 points, and Parker added 6 points. Stone had 3 points. Anderson and Hourel accounted for 2 points each.

Andalusia will travel to Straughn tonight to face the Tigers in the second area contest for both teams.
