State Troopers have arrested a man for driving under the influence in connection with a November wreck near River Falls.

Alabama State Trooper Public Information Officer Kevin Cook confirmed that 29-year-old Christopher Ray Ammons was arrested by Trooper James Rice on Thursday for DUI.

The wreck occurred Nov. 21, north of River Falls.

According to records obtained from State Troopers, Ammons was traveling south bound on County Road 21, but did not stop at the “posted and functioning stop sign, going across US 84 up an embankment and into the tree line.”

The vehicle struck one tree, smashing through it and hitting another tree head-on. Troopers said there was no indication of braking.

After On-Star reported the crash to Covington Command, Ammons was found by first responders in the passenger floorboard, unresponsive, according to the report.
