A complaint on room 108 at the Comfort Inn led officers to arrest seven men on drug possession charges on Saturday night.

Covington County Drug Task Force Investigator David Harrell said a complaint was made that a marijuana odor was coming from the room.

“Sgt. Nic Ireland and the Andalusia Police Department went to make contact and saw marijuana in plain view, so they called me out,” Harrell said.

During the search of room 108, Harrell said he found marijuana all over the room and in the pockets of many of the individuals.

“One subject had a metal briefcase with 30 grams of marijuana and his ID,” Harrell said. “All of those involved are Andalusia residents.”

One person was believed to have marijuana packaged to sell, and many of the others were possibly there just to party, Harrell said.

Officers arrested Justin L. Crittenden, 18, Dakota D. Sims, 20, Kevin A. Anderson, 24, and Zadarius McCaskill, 18, on charges of possession of marijuana II and possession of drug paraphernalia. Each was booked into the Covington County Jail on $10,500 bonds.

Trevon L. Peacock, 20, was held on a $13,000 bond for charges of possession of marijuana I and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rafeal Sims, 20, was held on a $13,000 bond for charges of possession of marijuana I and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Corinthian Sims, 22, was held without bond on charges of possession of marijuana I, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

Rafeal Sims, Crittenden and Anderson had made bail as of press time.
