MARY LOU WILLIAMSON JACKSON

Mary Lou Williamson Jackson, 87, of Dozier died Jan. 18 at the Luverne Nursing Home following an extended illness. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Tues., Jan. 20, at Oak Grove Cemetery with Minister Jeff Grimes officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Jackson; infant son Charles David Jackson; by her parents, Bealie and Florence Williamson; by her sister, Endia W. Jeter; and her brothers, Marvin and Manson Williamson.

She is survived by her sons, Robert, Ronnie and Paul, all of Dozier, and Randy L. (Wanda) Jackson of Lynn Haven, Fla.; and by her daughters, Doris (Michael) Hoffman of Columbia, Miss., and Melissa (Danny) Powell of Seneca, S.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Loretta Manning of Dozier, Roxie Bracewell of Andalusia and Betty (Clayton) Terry of Red Level; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Joe Bracewell, Walter Bracewell, Tim Bracewell, Greg Gibson, Ricky Gibson and David Gibson.

The family requests no flowers, but memorials can be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund, Dozier, AL 36028, or to the charity of your choice. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Charles Tompkins and the staff of Crenshaw Community Hospital and the wonderful staff of the Luverne Nursing Home and Hospice Advantage for the loving and considerate attention shown to their mother. Thanks also to Gentiva Home Health for years of service when their mother was at home.

 

BETTY HURST

Mrs. Betty Hurst, 68, of Andalusia passed away unexpectedly at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., Jan. 21, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Tues., Jan. 20, at Keahey Funeral Home.

The Rev. Billy Boles will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hurst Family Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Daniel Blocker of Andalusia; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Ray and Faye Kirkland of Andalusia; sister, Mary Harrison of Andalusia; and two grandchildren, Courtney Williams and Erica Blocker.

Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Hurst.

 

CLINTON A.C. SEALES

Mr. Clinton A.C. Seales, 85, of Andalusia passed away Thurs., Jan. 15, 2015, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tues., Jan. 20, at Keahey Funeral Home chapel.

The Rev. Derrick Stewart will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Merle Musgrove Seales of Andalusia; daughter, Susan Seales of Andalusia; brothers, Lavan ( Frances ) Seales of Mississippi, Lomax Seales of Montgomery; sisters, Frances Seales of Prattville and Orell Grant of Pensacola, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Derrell Daniel, Lionel Seales, Dewayne Beesley, Phillip Henderson, Jim Brooks and Tony Seales.

Mr. Seales was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the U.S. Forestry Department in the Blue Lake and Open Pond area and had previously owned several businesses in Covington County.

 

LEON GAFFORD STONE

Leon Gafford Stone, age 86, of Andalusia passed away on Sat., Jan. 17, 2015, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tues., Jan. 20, in Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Fred Karthaus officiating.

Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Voncile Boles Stone of Andalusia; children, Gary (Debbie) Stone of Houston, Texas, Ken Stone of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Billy (Peggy) Boles of Andalusia, and Susan (Drew) Cook of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Knowles Stone.

Pallbearers will include; Joe Stone, Ray Stone, Charles Young, Randy Cagle, Charles Rogers, and Kim Dyess.

MARYEVE BARRINGTON PEEK

Maryeve Barrington Peek, age 87, of Dozier passed away on Jan. 15, 2015, at Andalusia Manor.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Sun., Jan. 18, in Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Meadows and the Rev. Oris Sanders officiating. .

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Daniel Peek of Flomaton, Warren Peek of Babbie, Gary Lynn and Edith Peek of Pollard, and John M. and Barbara Peek of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and John Joyner of Dozier; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Wilma Barrington of Dalton, Ga., John Frank Barrington of Sun City, Ariz., and Don and Patsy Barrington of Austin, Texas; and sisters and brother-in-law, Jane Krellner of Ocala, Fla. and Catherine and Bill Clark of Andalusia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Janie Barrington, and husband, Robert Gaston Peek.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Liberty Church Cemetery and/or the Dozier Baptist Church Building Fund.
