B-team Bulldogs hold off Bobcats’ rally

The Andalusia B-team Bulldogs held off the Opp Bobcats 48-37 Friday night in Andalusia for the final game of the regular season.

 

The Bulldogs jumped out front 11-6 in the first period.  Zack Woods sparked the Bulldogs with 5 points in the first period with a 3-pointer, and 2-for-2 trip to the free throw line. Adam Peek, R.J. Drish and Ar’Tavious Comer each finished the first with 2 points.

 

Evan King, E.J. Reed and Juan Bell paced the Bobcats with 2 points each in the first period to keep the contest close.

 

The Bulldogs stretched the lead to 22-13 after two periods of play. Woods knocked down another trey, and a free throw for 4 points. Peek also picked up 4 points in the second period for the Bulldogs.

 

Reed led the Bobcats with 4 points in the second period.

 

Woods remained on fire in the third period with two more 3-pointers, and a total of 8 points in the third period. Drish also got hot in the third period, and finished with 6 points to guide the Bulldogs to a 40-19 lead heading into the final period.

 

King scored all 6 of the Bobcats’ third period points.

 

In the fourth period, King went off for the Bobcats with 12 points, but it just wasn’t enough to overcome the led the Bulldogs had built.

 

Odarius Womack took control for the Bulldogs in the fourth period with 8 points to give the Bulldogs a 48-37 victory.

 

King led the Bobcats with 20 points, and Reed finished the contest with 9 points.

 

Woods led the Bulldogs with 17 points, and Drish totaled 9 points on the night.
