For the third time in a little more than a week, an Opp woman is behind bars for heaving sexual contact with a minor child.
According to the Opp Police Department, during a continuing investigation, it was reported that a 25-year-old female was having sexual contact with a child under the age of 16.
After an in-depth investigation, OPD investigators arrested and charged Mandi Brianna Harrison with rape II and sodomy II.
Harrison was taken to the Covington County Jail, where she was held on a $400,000 bond.
Rape II and sodomy II are both Class B felonies.
OPD Chief Mike McDonald said he would like to encourage parents and grandparents to talk to their children about the dangers of sexual crimes.
“Talk with your children and instruct them, if anyone touches them or talks to them inappropriately, please contact the Opp Police Department or you local law enforcement agency immediately, without delay,” he said.
The case remains under investigation by the Opp Police Department and the Covington County Department of Human Resources.
Last week, the OPD arrested Kristina L. Burroughs, 30, for rape II and sodomy II.
They also arrested Tiffany Blair, who was charged with rape II, sodomy II and four counts of chemical endangerment.
