Hyundai announced this week that its all-time monthly sales record was broken in March.

The company said its American sales was more than 75,000 vehicles in March, a figure that is up 12 percent over last year.

Nearly 29,000 Elantras were sold, leading the way in company sales.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing in Montgomery makes the Elantra and Sonata, which was the No. 2 selling in March with 18,340 cars sold.

In Montgomery, the plant produced 32,000 vehicles in February to help keep up with the demand, even adding extra shifts on the weekend.

Locally, SaeHaeSung provides automotive parts for Hyundai and Kia.
