MONTREL SMITH

Mrs. Montrel Smith, age 62, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., April 5, 2015, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thurs., April 9, 2015, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Billy Boles officiating.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Missy Smith of Andalusia; sisters, Frances Richerson of Andalusia, Linda Durden of Ozark and Mildred Pettie of Andalusia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Theresa Geohagan of Andalusia, and Doug and Debra Geohagan of Kennett, Mo.; grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Hunter Smith, Rayni Smith, Mandy Smith and Ashton Legear; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Geohagan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Gideons Bible or Hopewell Baptist Church.

CHARLES TIM GOOLSBY JR.

Mr. Charles Tim Goolsby, Jr. “Timmy”, age 37, of Opp, passed away on Sun., April 5, 2015, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, Tues., April 7, 2015. from Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Canant and Bobby Whatley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

He is survived by his daughters, Ivy Marie Goolsby of Opp and Abigail Marie Goolsby of Red Level; parents, Tim and Janelle Goolsby of Opp; maternal grandmother, Beatrice Deese Spence of Opp; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly G. and Heath Kilcrease of Opp; and niece, Lyla Jane Kilcrease of Opp.

Pallbearers will be Chris Fuller, Chris Owens, John Woodham, Bill Frank Graham, Mike Lunsford, Kenneth Adkinson and Clay Segars.

LUCILLE MOTLEY

Mrs. Lucille Motley, age 83, of Wing, passed away on Sat., April 4, 2015, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at held at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Wed., April 8, 2015, at Southside Baptist Church with Brother Anthony Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Wing Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, Tues., April 7, at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Teddie and Melinda Motley of Wing; her grandchildren, Jennifer Motley (Corey) Miller, Christopher Bryan (Jeanette) Motley and Pandora Motley (John) Wells; her great-grandchildren, Devan Miller, Brooklyn Miller, Victoria Motley, Christopher R. Motley, Zachary Motley and Genesis Wells; a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Linda Blackwood of Paxton, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Rogers Henley of Biloxi, Miss.; and stepmother, Othala Blackwood of Wing; and her family members.

Pallbearers will be Howard West, Jerry Fields, Larry Smith, Heath Truman, James Carroll, Nickey Henley, Rod Lewis and Keith Lewis.

BOBBY RAY WATSON

Mr. Bobby Ray Watson, age 57, of Red Level, passed away on Sat., April 4, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Mon., April 6, 2015, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Bethel Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Watson of Red Level; his mother, Naomi Watson of Andalusia; his sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Donna McGugin, and Estia McGugin of Andalusia; his daughters, Cassandra Padgett and Chassady Padgett of Evergreen; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Bobby Wallace of Andalusia, and Deborah and Jerry Neal of Andalusia; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and JoAnn Watson of Opp; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers included Larry Mathews, Stephen Ward, Estia McGugin, Ray Henry, Timonthy Griggs, Jr. Watson and Dewayne Biggs.

GENE PARKER EVANS

Mr. Gene Parker Evans, age 84, of 118 Maple St., Andalusia, passed away on Thurs., April 2, 2015. He was a native of Andalusia, a 1949 graduate of Andalusia High School, U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a retired civil service employee with the U.S. Dept. of Defense.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Tues., April 7, 2015, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Douglass officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Charles E. “Chuck” Evans of Decatur, Ga. and Carl D. and Patricia Evans of Collierville, Tenn.; and granddaughter, Monica Evans of Collierville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ellen Jones Evans; and his parents, Ernest W. Evans and Grace Taylor Evans.

JOE LAGRANGE RAWLS

Mr. Joe LaGrange Rawls, age 84, of Andalusia, passed away on Thurs., April 2, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Mon., April 6, 2015, from Rawls Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Sharpe officiating. Interment followed in Rawls Cemetery.

Mr. Rawls was born in Rawl’s Community, Covington County, on Oct. 20, 1930 to the late, Rawden and Lillie Mae Jordan Rawls. Joe graduated from Auburn University in 1955 in agricultural science and worked in agriculture his entire career. After marrying Mary and the birth of their sons, Joe was a resident of Dothan. He was a long time member of, and deacon of, First Baptist Church in Dothan. After retiring, he spent the last 15 years in Andalusia and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

He was raised on a farm and had a love for his farm, family history and timberland. He had one of the first certified treasure forests in the county. Joe was devoted to his family. He was a generous and kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Shari Rawls of Davidson, N.C., and Joseph and Deepa Rawls of Thomasville; grandsons, Gavin and Mark Rawls; granddaughter, Raegan Rawls; brother and sister-in-law, David J. and Sondra Rawls of West Memphis, Ark.; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjoryn and Langley Creighton of Birmingham, Rebecca and Clyde Moody of Irmo, S.C., and Charlotte and Sam Latham of Tyler, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Henson Rawls; brothers, Mark and Sidney Rawls; and sister, Fann Rawls Bozeman.

Pallbearers were Gavin Rawls, Mark Rawls, Rick Penn, Andy Rawls, Alan Creighton and Scott Rogers. Honorary pallbearers were Adam Rawls, Jordan McGrew and Alex Johnston.
