Lady Bobcats down Pike County

GULF SHORES — Opp jumped out front early in game one against Pike County, and held on to knock off the Lady Bulldogs 10-0.

The Lady Bobcats got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning.

Paige Johnson and Loryn Praytor singled with one out, and Sara Ballard plated the first run with a RBI single.

Praytor scored on a sacrifice fly from Katlynn Schively, and Tori Morgan drove in Ballard with an infield single to give the Lady Bobcats a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second.

The Lady Bobcats added a fourth run in the bottom of the third inning, when Courtney Chatham scored from third on a throwing error.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Lady Bobcats added two more runs, when Tori Reisnour doubled home Morgan.

Chatham followed with a double that drove in Reisnour from second to give the Lady Bobcats a 6-0 lead.

The Lady Bobcats continued to pour on the runs in the bottom of the second. Ariyon Hightower drove in Kailey Taylor with a single to put Opp up 7-0. Anna Harrelson followed with a two-run double over the head of the left fielder that scored Hightower and Morgan Johnson. Katie Spurlin ended the game with a single that drove in Harrelson from third.

The Lady Bobcats used Anna Harrelson, Schively and Chatham on the mound to shutout the Lady Bulldogs.
