The Opp Bobcats will be looking to build off the success of Brent Hill’s first season as head coach as the 2015 season is fast approaching.

In Hill’s first season with Opp, the Bobcats finished 9-4 and made an impressive run into the third round of the AHSAA Class 3A state playoffs before falling to Gordo.

Joining Hill on the sidelines this season will be former Alabama head coach Mike Dubose.

Dubose, a native of Opp, has spent the past several seasons as the head coach of the Luverne Tigers. He returned home to Opp during the offseason.

The Bobcats will square off against Dubose’s former Tigers on Aug. 20 for a fall scrimmage game before the Bobcats kickoff their season with county rival Straughn on Aug. 28 in Straughn.

The following week will be the home opener for the Bobcats when Hillcrest-Evergreen comes to town on Sept. 4 for the first region game of the season.

The Bobcats will have an open date on the week of Sept. 11 before traveling to Geneva on Sept. 18 for the second region game of the season.

After the Geneva game, the Bobcats will take a short break from region action when longtime-rival Andalusia comes to town on Sept. 25.

On Oct. 2, the Bobcats return to region action when T.R. Miller comes to Opp for the third region game of the season.

Region action continues for the Bobcats when they travel to Excel on Oct. 9.

Bayside comes to town on Oct. 16 for a region game, and it will also serve as the Bobcats’ homecoming game.

The Bobcats round out region play on Oct. 23, when they travel to Cottage Hill before finishing off the season with rival Elba on Oct. 30 in Elba.
