A Florala woman died in a motorcycle wreck in Okaloosa County in the wee hours of the morning, and the driver was listed in critical condition.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Brain Scott Overfield, 34, of Crestview, was driving a 1996 Harley Davison on County Road 188 (Old Bethel Road) when he lost control and left the roadway on the east shoulder. The Harley struck a road sign and a utility pole before overturning.

Paula Ann Inman, 45, of Florala, died in the accident.

Overfield was listed in critical condition in Sacred Heart Hospital.

According to the troopers’ report, neither was wearing a helmet.

The accident occurred at 2:50 a.m. Saturday.
