Heidi Martin has been recognized as Andalusia Regional Hospital’s 2015 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s more than 60 hospitals, including Andalusia Regional Hospital, who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Martin is an RN in the ARH emergency department where she enjoys the reputation of being an excellent nurse. She is known for being a peacemaker, encourager, sounding board, mentor, and always having the patient/family’s best interest in mind, She is involved in Children’s Miracle League, her church, planning fundraisers, organizing first aid kit drives for the Red Cross, pajama and blanket drives for abused women and children, and the list goes on. Martin and her husband, Travis, have three children, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Anna.
“We are extremely proud to recognize Heidi Martin for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community,” said John Yanes, CEO of Andalusia Regional Hospital. “She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters is treated with the highest level of care and compassion.”
The Mercy Award program is an annual recognition that was established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer (CEO). The Mercy Award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.
