Andy BOE hires new employees

The Andalusia Board of Education on Monday added four new faces to local faculties, but also accepted resignations that means the hiring process isn’t over for the 2015-16 school year.

The board accepted the resignations of:

• Megan Wilford, AES 4th and 5th grade teacher.

• Samantha Russell, AES guidance counselor.

• Joy Sowards, AMS 8th grade math teacher.

• Stephanie Dillard, child nutrition director.

• Josh Sheffer, AJHS 8th grade physical science teacher.

• Mary Worley, route bus driver.

The board non-renewed:

• Evan Soles, special ed paraprofessional.

• Tyler Dent, AHS social science teacher. Dent was also head baseball coach

• Randy Bryant, AES physical education teacher.

The board transferred:

• Christy Thomasson Clanton from 4th grade to kindergarten at AES.

• Tammy McKinney from 4th grade to 1st grade at AES.

• Claire Walters from 5th grade to 1st grade at AES.

• Bridget Harper from 5th grade to 1st grade at AES.

• Trevor Driver from 4th grade to 6th grade at AES.

• Morgan Burnette from 2nd grade to 3rd grade at AES.

The board hired:

• Bonnie Dewrell as kindergarten techer at AES.

• Brittany Allen Farmer as 5th grade teacher at AES.

• Candice Williams as 9th grade math teacher at AHS.

• Adam Helms as physical education teacher and coach at AHS. Helms comes to Andalusia from Charles Henderson High School.
