Opp 12U All-Stars World Series bound

Opp’s 12U Cal Ripken All-Star baseball team bulldozed their way to a district and state title and will head to Drew County, Ark., for the World Series on Aug. 6.
The team used solid all-around baseball to earn the district and state titles right here in Covington County.
On Aug. 6, Opp will begin its quest for a World Series title.
To help out with expenses on the trip to Arkansas, the Opp Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations from anyone who wishes to help support these kids and their incredible accomplishment.
Bring monetary donations to the Opp COC, and make checks payable to Opp 12U All-Stars World Series.
Contributions may be dropped off at the Opp COC until Aug. 4.
Events at the World Series kickoff on Aug. 6 with a skills competition, and the tournament itself will begin on Aug. 7 with pool play.
Opp will be in Pool D along with Warren, Ark., New England and Pacific Southwest.
The first game for Opp will be Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. against Warren.
Opp will get the day off on Aug. 8 before getting back to action Aug. 9 against Pacific Southwest at 5 p.m.
The final pool play game for Opp will be against New England on Aug. 10 at 3 p.m.
Following pool play, teams from each pool will be seeded 1-4 according to how the did in pool play.
Once the teams are seeded a one-game elimination tournament will begin on Aug. 11.
