Even as the rain came pouring down, hundreds of the Andalusia faithful showed up to support during the meet the Bulldogs on Friday night at Andalusia High School.

The evening started out with the introduction of the Andalusia Youth Football League teams and their cheerleaders, who will begin their season today at 9 a.m., when the Florala Wildcats come to Andalusia for the season opener.

Next up, the Bulldogs’ Junior High team was introduced to the rain-soaked crowd along with their new head coach Marshall Locke.

New AHS head coach Trent Taylor then introduced the high school players and coaches.

“It’s great to be home, and at a place where I have so many fond memories,” Taylor told the crowd.

Following the player introductions, the high school players spilt up and put on a scrimmage for the fans to show what would be in store for the 2015 football season.

On the second play of the scrimmage, sophomore B.J. Anderson caught a short pass from senior Taylor Griffin, and raced nearly 80 yards for a touchdown.

Freshman quarterback, Roosevelt Weaver, threw two touchdown passes during the scrimmage.
