Robert Daniel Peek

Robert Daniel Peek, 67, of Flomaton, formerly of Dozier, passed away Fri., Sept. 11, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Mon., Sept. 14, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation was also at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Eddie Lane and Marie Peek of Flomaton, and Robert Leon “Bobby” Peek of Ball Ground, Ga.; a daughter, Tammy Rene Peek Jernigan of Flomaton; six grandchildren, Samantha Lee Peek, Jamie Lee Peek, Jessica Rene Peek, Caitlan Dean, Jacob Ryan Jernigan, and Gracee Nicole Peek; a great-granddaughter, Peyton Raleigh Peek; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren Peek, Gary and Edith Peek, John and Barbara Peek; and one sister, Ellen Peek and John Joyner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaston and Maryeve Peek.

Lewis Hooks

Mr. Lewis Hooks, age 95, passed away on Sept. 11, 2015, at his residence.

Graveside Services were held at 2 p.m., Sun., Sept. 13, 2015, at Mt. Union Cemetery with Rev. John Finklea officiating. Visitation was held at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his son, Lathan (Carolyn) Hooks of Luverne; daughter, Shelia (Cleveland) Brown of Evergreen; grandchildren, Lisa (Bryon) Shay of Houston Texas, Leigh (Scott) Jones of Houston Texas, Alana (Steve) Urban of Bay Minette, and Randal (Selena) Brown of Robertsdale; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, Emma, and Riley.

Memorial contrubutions can be made to the Mt. Union Cemetery Fund, 2535 County Road 93, Evergreen, AL 36401.

 

Avis Robertson

Avis Robertson, 87, of Louisville, Ky., passed away on Sept. 14, 2015. Avis was born on Jan. 30, 1928, to the late Otto and Bessie Cottle. She was a music lover, enjoyed cooking, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Avis studied genealogy on both sides of her family, and her favorite annual activity was attending a family reunion in Alabama.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Neumann. Survivors include her children, Janet Warren, James M. Robertson, and Elizabeth Anne Robertson; sister, Billie Cooper; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Andalusia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Hope Health Clinic (1025 Sanibel Way #E, La Grange, KY 40031).

James Arden Browder

Mr. James Arden Browder of Andalusia passed away Sun., Sept. 13, 2015, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 60. Complete arrangements will be announced later by Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Browder, Andalusia; daughters, Tiffany Lawrence (Robert), Dothan, and Jamie Browder, Andalusia; mother-in-law: Donna Register, Dothan; sister, Julanne Veasey; nephew, Jimbo Veasey; niece, Dawn Veasey; and his best friend, Steve Gaines, Andalusia.
