The Florala Wildcats rolled up 466 yards on the ground on the way to 56-40 homecoming win over the McIntosh Demons Friday night in Florala.

“I was very proud of the guys tonight,” Florala coach Brad Rhodes said. “It was a big win. We could have put them away, but we did a few things that let them back in a made it closer.”

The Wildcats’ first score came on a 9-yard scramble from quarterback Avery McNeill.

On the Wildcats’ next series, they came out with a strong drive and Trey Burleson capped the drive with a 13-yard touchdown.

“The biggest difference tonight for us was that we finished drives tonight,” Rhodes said. “That is something we haven’t done all year, but we stressed that this week at practice and the guys did a great job.”

McNeill led the Wildcats with 211 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns.

“I was proud of the way we came out tonight,” Rhodes said. “It’s always good to get a win on homecoming.”
