In a crucial region match-up, Opp tangled with Geneva in a very offensive and physical game. The Bobcats got two quick scores in the first quarter on two short yardage runs by TyKeenan White for a 16-0 Opp lead after one. Geneva’s first touchdown came early in the second but any momentum was quickly dashed when Raheem Bonam scored on the first play from scrimmage going 55 yards for the score. After forcing a three and out Reggie Thompson took the Geneva punt and we 92 yards for another touchdown. Geneva scored two more times before the half as Opp led 32-21 at the half.

Geneva put a scare in Opp to start the second half with an early touchdown. After two 15-yard penalties, the Bobcats struck for 44 yards on a second down and 36 with Garrett Short catching a touchdown pass from Orlando Lacey. Lacey then left the game for a play and back-up QB Reggie Thompson took just one snap the entire game and ran 53 yards for a touchdown. Geneva answered with two scores to end the third with Opp ahead 48-35. Opp tacked on two more scores in the fourth by Hennis Washington and Raheem Bonam and Geneva scored late as the Bobcats won 60-42 to move to 4-0 and 2-0 in the region.

Following the game Coach Hill said of his team, “I am really proud of how our boys played and handled themselves tonight.”

Raheem Bonam led the Bobcats on the ground with 207 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Orlando Lacey went 9 of 17 in the air for 139 yards and a touchdown. Devontae Williams was the leading tackler with 12 stops and a sack. Shawn Tillis had 10 tackles.
