Andalusia Manor’s festival
Andalusia Manor will hold its 14th annual Fall Festival and 5th annual Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today, Sat., Oct. 3.
Games with prizes are planned, as well as an apple orchard, giant slide, dunking booth, jump-a-roo. Vendor booths also will be set up.
A-Town Invitational
Twenty-five marching bands will participate in today’s 10th annual A-Town Band Competition, hosted by the Andalusia High School band.
All five of the county’s high school bands will participate. Red Level (noon), Florala (12:30 p.m.), Opp (2 p.m.), and Straughn (2:45 p.m.) will compete. Andalusia High School’s Sound Tradition – which is 148 members strong this year – will perform in exhibition at 8:40 p.m.
Awards will be at 8:50 p.m.
Admission is $6, and children ages 5 and under are admitted free.
Lamar Morris benefit
Musicians from all over the south will come together today to do a music benefit for Lamar Morris, who is undergoing treatment for throat cancer at UAB.
The benefit will be held outside at the residence of Angus and Stacey Edgar on Highway 84 in Opp, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Musicians include Carroll Williams Band, Simple Bluegrass from Dothan, Andy Norman from Montgomery, Doctors Lawyers & Editor Chiefs, E Town Band from Enterprise, and Southern Steel from Tennessee.
Everyone should bring a lawn chair. Donations will be accepted.
Little Lambs fall sale
The fall Little Lambs consignment sale is scheduled for today, Sat., Oct. 3, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Kiwanis Community Center.
A portion of the proceeds goes to missions.
Carver Center breakfast
A breakfast fundraiser for Florala’s Carver Community Center is set for 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. this Sat., Oct. 3.
The menu includes sausage, bacon, biscuits, eggs, and cheese grits for only $5 per plate.
The Carver Center is located at 2453 Martin Luther King St., Florala.
